"I was looking very much forward for the first ever Champion's Dinner that I would had been able to attend. Due to this pandemic, I am not able to attend the tournament to defend my title. It is very unfortunate."
This was the message sent by Chan Kim to the tournament organizers just before the tournament started.

In 2018 season, with his back and left wrist injury, he wasn't able to play any tournament, so his win here at Japan Open Golf Championship last year meant BIG.
