Japan Open Golf Championship 2020
Takumi Kanaya solo 7th finish on debut game now heads to ZOZO Championship in US
"I was able to make good chances with my shots, but my putting failed to come through. I know that I could have scored better, and this tournament has left me much more to work on my game. I would like to brush up and reach the high goals."
Takumi has earned the tournament host's invitation to the ZOZO Championship. This will be his second challenge to play in US this year. Last month at US Open, he played with Bryson DeChambeau.
"I played with him at last year's Masters too, so he remembered me and made me feel comfortable by chatting while we played. I was so happy that he remembered me."
Takumi has been awarded as World's No.1 Amateur and is recognized by many players worldwide.
"My ultimate goal is to become world's No.1 in professional field too. My goal for next week is to win. I am 22 years old and many among my age are already making a great success in top class field. I want to challenge that field and I will do whatever necessary to succeed."
