Local school children done a great job as "Junior Escorts"
Players were in the competitive mood when they arrived at the course, but their faces turned in to big smiles when they were greeted by the children. Scott Strange bended his body to give a high five with the kids. Jung-Gon Hwang's caddy even piggy backed a child on his shoulders.
Casio World Open has been donating Snag Golf to the local schools since 2006. There has been total of 40 schools and sports facilities who has received these donations over these 12 years period. In 2012, donation was widened to Tournament's cities friendship town Iwanuma city in Miyagi Prefecture to help out on their condolences for the 3.11 earthquake. They have also extended the donation area to other prefectures of Shikoku as well.
This week, on 24th Saturday, at Danryu Course of the Kochi Kuroshio CC, 8th Snag Golf Competition was held and 30 students from in and out of the prefecture participated. Future professional golfers were competing head to head. These future stars were the ones escorting the pros on the Final Round Sunday. With the big hand shake between the players and children, the love for golf was literary handed over.
