Casio World Open 2018

Ryo started off with 4 under on Day 1, donated 249 digital dictionaries

Host Pro, Ryo Ishikawa holed out with 4 under par on Day 1. With this good start, he was able to stand in front of the children with a big smile. Ryo has donated 249 Casio digital dictionaries to local elementary school after his round. Ryo made a deal with Casio at the beginning of this season that he will donate the digital dictionaries as many as the amount of his birdies.

"I wanted to give back to children's education thru golf."
Ryo's wish was granted this week.
Adding the 5 birdies he made on Day 1 this week, the number of birdies added up to 249.
"I miss the cut so many times this season. So, the chance for the birdie declined. I feel bad that I couldn't do well enough."

Ryo was little disappointed with the numbers of digital dictionaries but was pleases to see the children from local elementary schools visiting the tournament today. He was pretty happy donating Casio digital dictionary "EX-word" to the students in person. So thankful for the Casio's support.

Ryo used EX-word when he studied in high school days. It was too helpful, that he used it during the classes when the dictionary wasn't allowed." I was scolded by my teacher doing so. I hope all of you will use this in correct ways." Ryo made a grin saying so. A warm laughter surrounded Ryo and the children at the ceremony.
