Panasonic Open Golf Championship 2019

Rahil Gangjee marks marvelous 63 and gets in great position for a repeat victory

Defending Champion, Rahil Gangjee made bogey free 8 birdies on Round 2 at the "Panasonic Open" and jumped up on the top of the leaderboard. He is now in a great position to do a "repeat victory".
"I think I could have made 4 more birdies" says Rahil, very confident with his game and ready to defend his Champion Title on Sunday afternoon.

Last year, he made a winning birdie putt on the final hole to grab the most wanted 2nd career victory that he has waited for 14 years.

But after his win last year, he had hard time making the cutline. As for this season, tied for the 10th at the Fuji Sankei Classic is the best finish so far.

Last year's venue was at Ibaraki CC in Osaka, but this year the stage has changed to Higashi Hirono GC in Hyogo, but still Rahil seems to have a good feeling about this tournament.
"I like Panasonic, and I hope Panasonic likes me too."

Would Rahil be favorited by "Panasonic Open" again?

With his victory last year, he has earned 2 years exemption to the Tour and became so fond of Japanese dishes such as sushi and pork cutlet rice bowl. Now he added Yakiniku (Japanese style BBQ) to his list. As for curry, he doesn't like the Japanese style so much.
"For me, it doesn't have enough spice. Not hot enough for me."

Important thing is that Rahil's game is very hot this week, and he has his goal set to defend his title on Sunday afternoon to repeat that overwhelming happiness again.
