Ho-Sung Choi makes a new tournament record 62 to jump up as co-leader on Day 2

Ho-Sung Choi made history today at Fujizakura. He made 10 birdies and a bogey to mark 62, a new tournament record and took away all the spotlight from even superstar Ryo Ishikawa and last week's winner Kazuki Higa as they played in the same groupings today.

It was "tora-san" day from the beginning. His world known fisherman swing was on stage. Ho-Sung Choi started off with 4 straight birdies including the chip in at 4th. On 6th, his short game from the back rough of the green went rolling a bit by bit to the hole. Then Ho-Sung Choi stated to dance around with putter in his hand and swung it like magic wand, the ball made it to the cup.

Ho-Sung Choi on stage took away all of the spotlight even from everybody's favorite Ryo Ishikawa.
"All eyes were on Tora-san, not me" said Ryo, but he was showing splendid play too. He made a chip in eagle at 12th, and on the reachable Par 4 14th, he got the ball to 5-meter and showed off his driving distance and accuracy.
"I had my moments, but today it was Tora-san's day and I envy him a little."

As Ryo stated, Ho-Sung Choi made another chip in birdie on 13 and kept on making 3 straight birdies. Then on the final 18, he made his 4th chip in birdie from left side guard bunker, his 3rd shot from 45 yards got swallowed into the cup.

Ryo congratulated Ho-Sung Choi with a high five, and the crowd roared. Today, the cloud that hid the Mt. Fuji went away and the beautiful scenery added special atmosphere for Ho-Sung Choi's new tournament record.

"Today's round was perfect" said Ho-Sung Choi.
His fisherman swing was picked up by US PGA star player Justin Thomas and was tweeted around the world. Since then, so many golfers became fan of his swing and his character. Ho-Sung Choi has won his 2nd victory at last year's Casio World Open. He was invited to Pebble Beach Pro-Am and gained more fans with his unique dancing swing.

For the first 2 rounds, Ho-Sung Choi played with Ryo and last week's champion Kazuki Higa, and said "both of them are very gentlemen, and their fans also cheered for me. I am grateful and that support made me play so well today."
Ho-Sung Choi's humble character is another reason everybody loves him.
