SMBC Singapore Open 2020

Yuta Ikeda the Rio 2016 Japan Representative is also starting good on Day 1 at Singapore

Yuta Ikeda, who was one of the Representative for the 2016 Rio Olympics made a good starting round for Year 2020. He marked 5 birdies and 3 bogies to score 2 under 69. He didn't have too much trouble to fight today. Yuta started out from 10th and he had 2 straight birdies on 17 and 18 just before making the turn.
"I know I shouldn't be greedy, but I think I could have made few more birdies", said Yuta regretting on some of the chances he couldn't make.

Yuta was one of the Representative for Japan at 2016 Rio, as Golf made the comeback to the Olympics after 112 years. Today, Yuta was in the same group with the Silver Medalist of Rio, Henrik Stenson, but played well not to get too far behind of Henrik.

Last season, Yuta had an injury during the tournament in autumn, and his victory for the season was only 1 at Mizuno Open.
"With that injury I couldn't play as I wished, so this season I want to play as freely as possible and grab more than 2 or 3 victories."

Yuta sits at 168th on WR, 8th on the list for the Olympics Representative, so his chance for making to the Olympics is impossible, but he has other goals to go after, such as multiple wins and the race for the Order of Merit Title.
