Asia Pacific Open Golf Championship Diamond Cup Golf 2019

Tournament Host, Masahiro Kawamura returns to Japan to "give back"

25 years old Masahiro Kawamura is now on his 9th years as professional. He has been away from Japan Tour since "Mynavi ABC" last October. He came back to Japan for a good reason.

He has been globe trotting to fight at the EPGA and Asian Tours. His fellow players convinced him that "next week tournament in England is too big to miss", but he came back to Japan to say thank you.

Mitsubishi Corporation is the sponsor for this week's tournament and Masahiro has been supported by Mitsubishi year after he won the "Asia Pacific Panasonic Open" in 2013.

With the full support from Mitsubishi Corp. he has been helped by the company's employees living around the world during his globetrotting golf adventure.
"I haven't had too many troubles abroad, and that's little disappointing" say adventure freak, but thanks to all of the supports he can get, he has been able to concentrate on his golf.

He has been challenging overseas since last November and has finished in top 10 for 3 times in these 7 months. Now he ranks in 22nd, he seems to have the seed for next year in his hands. This week's tournament is "British Masters", the big tournament which he shouldn't miss but he told his friends at the tour that he has more important tournament to attend to and flew back from China, where that last tournament was held.

Last season, he has done image training in order to fight in the overseas tournaments and used Drivers at the holes where it is not necessary. He trained himself to use the Drivers on the narrow fairways, which allowed him to be confident on the overseas venue. "I was able to take advantage using Driver on the narrow holes, where other players had to layup."

On last week's "Volvo China Open" he was in good position until the 2nd Round where he injured his wrist and had to WD. He had medical check up after he came back to Japan, and it seems to be not so serious.

After this week he will head back to overseas tour and will not come back this year.
"Considering the schedule, it's sad, but this will be the only tournament in Japan this year. So, I must do well and give back to the people who has been supporting me."
