Fujisankei Classic 2020

Series: 2020s New Face "flashy looks but shy" Sho Nagasawa

Today's "new face" in the Tour is 22 years old Sho Nagasawa, who made a notable appearance both by his looks and his play. On the 570 yards Par 5 3rd hole, he has marked the first eagle of this season, by directly holing with his 58W from 100 yards in. Which was followed by a 3-meter birdie putt. He also managed to save Par on the tough Par 4 hole 5 by making a 2.5-meter and carded in with a 69. Very well done for a new kid on the field.

During his amateur years back in 2014, he has played at Fujisankei Classic, but this is his first time to attend as a professional. This long and treacherous "Monster Course" which length over 7500 yards has tough green to read. But Sho has his big brother, who is also a professional golfer as his caddie to read the lines for him. Brothers worked our great and made the 2 under Par start for the tournament.

As for Sho's looks, he seems to enjoy flashy style as he chose to wear John Daly's favorite brand Loudmouth. His pants for Day 1 was filled with red lobsters.
"I happen to choose this one" said Sho, with blushed cheeks and added "I'm not good with interviews."

He looks flashy, but he is pretty shy guy. He started to play golf at age of 3 with toy golf clubs. He learned to play on his own, then in his high school years, he has won amongst the Pros in Yamanashi Open. He has turned Pro in 2016, following his big brother's footsteps. He has earned his qualification to this tournament by finishing 66th in QT Finals.

"I am from this Yamanashi Prefecture so I wished to have the fans here at the course cheering for me, but it cannot happen. But I will try to make the cutline and give back to my fans."
