Atomu Shigenaga marks the "best score of the day" with his new weapon
Ryuko Tokimatsu in the same groupings with Atomu complained jokingly that "Atomu took away all of the good putts from me."
As Ryoko said, many of Atomu's putt found the bottom of the cup. The only bogey for today wa at 7th, where he had to shoot twice out of the bunker but drained the 6-meter putt to save a good bogey.
Atomu knew that keeping the fairway is the key to battle this course, and his new driver that he got from last week is doing great to support his ability for accuracy. At 2nd Round of Dunlop Srixon Open, his driving accuracy was 100%. Also, yesterdays were 78.57% and at 5th. He is now using Callaway's EPIC FLASH series standard model.
"I tried it during the off season, and it didn't fit me, but suddenly it's working great. Today I only missed fairways twice."
This week, Atomu is playing the Ibusuki Golf Club for the first time, but he has come here long time ago, when he was in 3rd Grade in elementary school. He came with his family to see the Casio World Open, and he was a big fan of Hidemichi Tanaka. He also was able to get a ball from then an amateur Azuma Yano.
This time he is here as a pro, looking to get his Major title.
"I am not so intense about the Major pressure, but I want to do great and win."
