Japan Open Golf Championship 2020

Rikuya Hoshino aims for 2 wins in a row at this week's Major

Murasaki Country Club Sumire Course is named after cute little white flower which blooms during the rainy season in Japan by the popular writer who used to be the member at this Country Club. Opposite from this elegant name, the course setting is brutal. Total 7300 yards long tough demanding course will give players headaches with nasty deep roughs and slick greens.

"You need power to get it out of these nasty roughs, but the green is so fast, you must have enough spin to stick the shots. Very tough but challenging", said Rikuya.

"It was fascinating to see the power dominated performance by Bryson DeChambeau at US Open. It is becoming power game in US PGA and I am aiming to gain that skill. I hope that the fans will enjoy watching us conquer the tough course with power and technic this week. I want to brush up my game this week and head to challenge ZOZO Championship in US next week."

Rikuya has won at the Fuji Sankei Classic, the 2020 season opening tournament, but that didn't fill up his satisfaction. He went on to build up his muscles with tough training and balanced meals.
"I ate well too and gained strength on my lower body. Japan Open is one of the Majors that all players dream to win, so I hope I could do it this week."
