At the end of March last year, the Japan Golf Tour Organization (JGTO) established a new leadership structure. Since then, we have successfully staged 24 Tour tournaments and 12 Challenge tournaments.

Being able to host these events on the JGTO throughout the year was a tremendous achievement – made possible by the extraordinary efforts and passion of our tournament organisers and sponsors.

We extend our deepest gratitude to them and would also like to express our sincere appreciation to the many volunteers and, most importantly, the countless fans whose support enabled us to complete the season.

Highlights of the 2024 Tour

The 2024 Tour season showcased the strength and depth of the players – both local and international – who gave our fans many reasons to cheer. Among them include Kensei Hirata who created a huge impact by winning four tournaments.

While several tournaments garnered attention with first-time winners and the oldest champion in history, it was Takumi Kanaya’s remarkable consistency that earned him the prestigious title of season prize money leader.

Competing in 19 tournaments, he achieved 11 top-10 finishes, including two victories. After the Japan Golf Tour concluded, Kanaya also performed well in the PGA Tour Qualifying School, earning membership to compete on the PGA Tour in 2025. We are thrilled to see a player from our tour taking the global stage.

The Challenge Tour also provided plenty of excitement. With no multiple winners, the season featured close battles, and the prize money leader was decided only in the final event.

Taisei Yamada staged a dramatic comeback to clinch the prize money title. Yamada will compete on the Tour stage this year, and we look forward to seeing him excel as a Challenge Tour prize money leader.

Looking Ahead

As the governing body of the Japan Golf Tour, JGTO remains committed to enhancing both the Tour and Challenge tournaments domestically while also fostering partnerships worldwide. Our goal is to produce more players capable of making their mark on the international stage, including co-hosting tournaments with organisations in other countries.

To bring fans closer to the Tour, we will actively engage them with our use of social media to share our players' achievements and messages. The overwhelmingly positive feedback from fans has reaffirmed how our players' successes have become a source of inspiration to them.

In 2025, we will intensify our information-sharing efforts, and we hope fans will not only cheer on players at tournaments but also engage with us through our website and social media channels.

2025 Season

The 2025 Japan Golf Tour season will kick off in April. We are looking forward to another exciting season and also hoping to deliver another memorable one which our fans will remember for a long time.

Yours sincerely,

Yutaka Morohoshi
