ANA Open started in 1973 as Zennikku (Japanese name of All Nippon Airways)Sapporo Open. First winner was Masashi Jumbo Ozaki. Since Capturing first ANA Open, Jumbo won recording 7 times. 1973,1974,1989,1992,1994,1995,2002. Last year Jumbo was leading the tournament until 71st hole but Missing the green on final hole had to settle with bogie. Playing same group Wei-Tze Yeh made 10m birdie putt and captured first Japan Golf Tour title.
