"World Famous Fisherman Swing" Ho-Sung Choi on the top of the leaderboard after Day 3
Right after he finished off the 3rd round with the 2-stroke lead, he arrived at the "Hero's Interview" at the gallery plaza. The interviewer is also well-known pro golfer and analyst, Take Koyama, who really dugs in deep when he starts questioning.
Take asked about the "well-known fisherman swing", and he straightforwardly asked Ho-Sung Choi, "you must be doing it on purpose, right?"
Ho-Sung Choi replied gentlemanly thru his translator/caddy "I do it to get my distance."
But even before he finishes the sentence, Take interfered by saying, "No way! You must be doing it on purpose. You are able to take balance at the follow through, but you dance intentionally."
But Take's joking around doesn't bother Ho-Sung Choi at all. He kept on analyzing his swing saying that "I follow the ball right after the impact and if it doesn't go the way I plan it to be, I make try to make it go that way by waving the club."
Take finally listened and said "That's way you are waving your club, like go right! Or go left!"
"Yes, yes" replies Ho-Sung Choi
Take adds, "So, if you are not doing so, it means it is total miss shot and you can't do anything about it?"
"That is right. If it is a total miss shot, I don't move much. But I still move a little anyhow."
Thanks to interviewer Take's pushy questions, now we know why he has such a unique swing. The interview was closed by Ho-Sung Choi doing the fisherman swing on the stage. Ho-Sung Choi says his first name, Ho-Sung means Star and Tiger. May be because tigers hunt under the star light."
If he wins, it will be since 2013 Indonesia PGA Championship and will become his No.2 victory. If he comes through, we will probably see him do more fabulous dance tomorrow.
