Babysitting gave David a boost! Marks 63 on Day 1
"Shots and putt were pretty good today", recalled David. He had a tough season last year even though he managed to keep his tour card for the 6th year. He challenged to make a swing change but could not achieve the goal he wanted. He ranked 58th, the worst ever in his career.
This season he has a big smile on his face.
"I think my swing change is 90% done", says David but that is not the only reason for his happy smile. Last year he was double blessed with marriage in March and baby girl Laura in August.
"Sooooo cute, she is cutest in the whole wide world!", the baby girl's charm got David head over heels. With this said, during the off season, David was happily busy doing his fatherhood jobs, changing diapers, bathing and hugging her.
"Hugging the baby all day is pretty good training" says David, with this baby muscle training, he has made a great start for this season.
Here is some words from a chat after his great round
Q. How do you feel about this first day at the opening event?
A. Obviously happy, but I think I feel relieved as well. I played last week at Gifu Open, but I haven't played in tournament for 4 months so, just to come out here and play this well on the first day makes me very happy and relieved.
Q. What was the key point?
A. Probably putting. I putted really well today. But I also hit very well today. I hit a lot of greens, a lot of fairways, I think that enabled me to hit it close and made a lot of putts.
Q. Could you guide us through the 3 straight birdies from 15th hole?
A. Actually, I missed 1.5-meter birdie putt on 13, then missed 2 meters birdie on 14. The 3 birdies from 15 was 3 meters, 16 was 6 iron tee shot to 4 meters, 17 was driver, then 6 iron over the green, chipped to 3 meters and made the birdie.
