Ryuko Tokimatsu aka "Gen-chan" sit at 3T 2 shots behind the co-leaders
"I have the chance to battle for the win against my admiring senior, Ryuji Masaoka."
After the renovation done 2 years ago, the Gotemba is changed from Par 72 into 7262 yards Par 70 tough course. Two Par5s is gone and 6th and 11th are now well over 500 yards Par 4s.
"We now have 2 less Par 5s, so we need to keep our patience."
The strong wind that everybody suffered on Day 1 was gone, but it got freezing cold on Day 2. Gen-chan made 5 birdies, but also made 3 bogeys.
"But if I could keep my patience and wait for the chance, I could build up 1 score at a time."
Gen-chan has been very calm and known for his patience since he turned Pro at 19 years old in 2012. He has been successful to win every year since his first victory in 2016. Now he is ready to make his 4th win this week.
Gen-chan will be in the same group with the co-leaders for Round 3.
"Ryuji is one of the seniors I admire, along with our boss Yuta Ikeda. Ryuji always treats me and takes really good care of me."
Ryuji and Gen-chan were in the same group for all 4 days at Heiwa PGM Championship last week.
"Ryuji's shot seemed to be perfect since last week. I am really looking forward to playing with him tomorrow and I want to keep up with him."
