Casio World Open Golf Tournament 2019
Order of Merit race show is narrowed down to only 2 finalists: No.1 Shugo or No.2 Shaun
On the Final Round of the Casio World Open, Shaun Norris marked a marvelous eagle on shortened reachable Par 4 16th. His tee shot darted to 1-meter to the pin and slammed the eagle putt, which led to the new course record of 64. Shaun finished as solo 2nd and received the prize money of 20 million yen. He couldn't overtake No.1 Shugo Imahira position, but he is now only 18,079,265 yen. The race for the Order of Merit title isn't easy but it is not over yet for Shaun.
Next week's JT Cup is season finale and the prize money are as follows; winner receives 40 million yen, runner-up with 15 million yen, and 3rd will be 10 million. Which means, in order for Shaun Norris to take away the prestigious Title away from Shugo Imahira, he must win.
Same as last season, the Order of Merit battle won't be decided until the JT Cup, and it will be a battle between the same 2 great players.
"This year I will definitely capture Shugo and overtake the Title", said Shaun Norris.
On the other hand, Shugo is challenging to become the 5th player to do the repeat. Shugo couldn't get into contention this week, but he scored 65 on the Final Round to finish at 39T. He was able to find the good rhythm back at the last minute.
"The venue for the next week's tournament is my favorite course. It will be the last battle at the season finale, so I want to win and ended with a bang!" smiled Shugo.
