Golf Nippon Series JT Cup 2019

Rikuya Hoshino accidentally torn his pants but safely kept his lead after Round 2

23 years old Rikuya Hoshino kept his lead by 1 shot after Round 2 at Golf Nippon Series JT Cup. He recalled that he was really focused at the par saving putt at final 18th. His tee shot at the one of the most difficult hole, Par 3 18th was barely hanging at the fringe of the green.
"It was 8-meters big left to right line. My birdie try went to totally unexpected way, and I acknowledged how difficult the undulation is at this course. Then I had 2-meter right to left line left to make. I told myself this is worth a million, it's worth to cancel the mistakes I made on 14 and 15."
The ball fell into the cup just from the right edge. It did worth a million and Rikuya kept his lead by 1 shot.

Rikuya played well, but he had few accidents today. After making the turn with an eagle on 6th, he found out that his pants were torn at the 10th tee. He tired to hide it, but uneasy stance made him hit a miss shot. He asked his caddy to give him a rain pants to cover the tear. This was a great idea as it also gave him warmth.
"That rain pants were lifesaving in many ways. I remember that I was a bit rough wearing the pants this morning. Bad mistake."

He also had another accident on the practice range today, as he has broken the board in front of him with his iron. He deeply apologized to the organizers.

But overall, Rikuya was able to keep his lead, and he is in good position to regain the top position of the Mercedes-Benz Total Point Ranking Award.
"I know I need to make lead in every 9 aspects of the STATS, so I will be very careful playing again tomorrow."

Most thing he should be careful about might be changing his clothes in the mornings.
