HEIWA PGM CHAMPIONSHIP 2019

"Tora-san" danced away with a win at the battle against "Mr. Consistency" at Heiwa PGM Championship

The dead heat between Ho-Sung Choi and Shugo Imahira was carried on until the final 2 holes.

Shugo caught up with Ho-Sung on birdie at 8th but couldn't hold it for long and gave away the lead with the 2-shot swing on 11th, as Shugo bogeyed and Ho-Sung birdied the hole. But soon after on Par 4 15th, Shugo nails in the birdie putt to regain the co-leader position.

Ho-Sung fails to make his birdie try on the next Par 3 16th to take back the lead, as his putting tempo somewhat seemed to break probably due to a pressure. Now the battle headed into the final 2 holes.

Then on Par 4 17th, Shugo misses his tee shot to the right-side roughs. He eagerly went to target dead to the pin, but it was just few yards short and it rolled back all the way to the front edge of the green. He had to settle for 3 putts for a bogey, while Ho-Sung made a marvelous 7-meter birdie putt to make another 2-shot swing on important finishing holes.

Shugo went aggressive on his final hole to at least make an eagle to catch a chance for a playoff, but he couldn't even make the eagle chance for himself and gave Ho-Sung a lot of breathing space. Ho-Sung tried to make his winning putt to be a birdie, but he finished with an almost tap in par to close the exciting battle against the current No.1 Money Ranker.

Ho-Sung Choi recalled his round against the current No.1 of the Money Ranking Shugo, that "I was very nervous. But I tried to be calm and stick to my golf."
He amused the gathering fans under the beautiful Okinawa blue sky with his unique and fun dances.

Shugo has made his 5 th runner-up finish this season and kept his position as No.1 on the Money Rankings. Shaun Norris and Dylan Perry finished as 3T with 3 shots back of the winner.
