"I want to win!" says Daisuke Kataoka, regardless of the flu he had during the New Years
"I pulled my shot, which gave me a hint to fix my swing."
Right after that, he made the 5-meter putt on 17th, nailed the shot to 50cm to the pin on 18th. And after the half turn on 1st, he chipped in a 20 yards short game which lead to 3 consecutive birdies.
Daisuke's New Years started off with a flu. He had to sleep in for few days, but he got back just in time for the season's beginning.
Daisuke has challenged on Asian Tour after he turned Pro in 2011. He achieved his first tour card in Asian Tours, rather than Japan Tour.
In 2017, he made his 3rd victory at Asia Pacific Diamond Cup Golf, which Daisuke feels that Japan-Asia co-hosted games suits him well.
"I intend on playing many games overseas until the Japan Tour starts in Japan. I will mark good record in Japan Tour and will also keep my Asian Tour card"
Daisuke was aggressive last season by going abroad many times, and he is eager to do more this season. With that said, he is much conscious of World's top players like Garcia.
"I want to be in the winner's circle and grab the win this week."
Daisuke carded 3 under, 2 behind the current leader(Round 1 suspended). With this good start, Daisuke must be excited to start his 2nd Round tomorrow.
