Dunlop Phoenix Tournament 2020

Defending Champion Shugo Imahira under "isolated play" finished 27T at Dunlop Phoenix

Shugo Imahira is on a long way back home. It took him long way to get to Miyazaki, as he took bullet train from Shin-Yokohama to Hakata, then 3.5 hours drive to the course.

"On the way back, I will stop at somewhere in between and take 2 days driving back home."

Shugo was the first golf player who was approved with "Athlete Track" granted by Japanese government and JOC/JPC.
"I am just grateful that I was able to play."

So many strict rules were placed on him, such as keeping distance from other players and even his own caddy, and sanitize on every hole etc. Shugo was also exhausted after the jet rag coming back from The Masters and long traveling hours to Miyazaki.
"I never had this kind of experience and I have learned a lot. Sadly, this pandemic will continue so, I think I was fortunate to have experienced it."

Shugo could not defend his title but finished with total 5 under at 27T.
"With my shots not being stable and my short games not so well, I am glad that I was able to play for 4 days."

He has 1 more week left for his self- -restraint period, but he will be free by the last tournament of the year, Golf Nippon Series JT Cup (December 3-6).
"It will be the last tournament of this season, so I want to prepare perfectly. Please continue to support me."
