Dunlop Phoenix Tournament 2020
With Honey's gift of 300 masks and sanitizers, Thailand's Gunn Chaoenkul fights hard alone
"Today, all of the 5-meters from 12th hole went in."
As he said, he made 4 straight birdies.
"On mt front nine, I started out with a bogey and couldn't get on the roll, but from that 4 srtaright birdies, I got confidence back and was able to play great."
This will be his second tournament following last week's SMBC VISA Taiheiyo Masters. Right after the re-entry permit measures were settled for foreign players, he was getting ready to come back to Japan Tour.
During the 2 weeks of self-restraint period, he stayed at a hotel near Haneda Airport.
"There was nothing I could do, so I trained and played games."
He did not choose to go to US for ZOZO Championship in California, but his wife was still worried about Gunn coming to Japan. He had to leave his 8 months old baby too.
"I think she was worried sick, so she made me bring disposable gloves, 300 masks, and so many sanitizers."
"I feel unsecured with this COVID-19 pandemic, and very lonely being without my family, but I felt that I should take the chance that is given by JGTO and Players Committee to join Japan Tour again. If I do well, I know that my family will be happy too."
