Golf Nippon Series JT Cup 2020
Hiroshi Iwara and Hideto Tanihara deeply regrets letting their victory chances fall away
Hiroshi had great birdie chance on Par 5 17th, but sadly his 1-meter putt slid right though left side of the cup. Then on Par 3 18th, his tee shot broke way left into the thick roughs left side of the green. He made it to 1-meter, but he recalls, "I read the line wrong", and he failed to save par.
"I think I was too obsessed about the victory, I couldn't even breath naturally. I didn't fall apart but still I lost. I must practice harder."
Hideto Tanihara had to settle for 2T, as he had to for Japan Open in October too.
"I should have made at least a birdie on 17th, but I couldn't. I did have a birdie try on 18 th but it was too long. I hit it hard enough, but it was too short, and I couldn't even save par to extend the game into a playoff."
Hideto has been challenging EPGA Tour since 2017.
"I am still not good enough. I must get better. I am still halfway through."
Hideto is 42 years old, but he is determined to be better.
"I want to get better. I want to make Japan Tour to get up on higher level as other world's tours."
