Golf Nippon Series JT Cup 2020

Hiroyuki Fujita's shows gratitude to his "dearest buddy" caddie with 2 eagles on R2 at JT Cup

51 years old Hiroyuki Fujita, oldest on the ground this week is playing really hot with 2 eagles on R2. He made the 10 yards chip-in eagle on 6th, and on 17th he shot from 192 yards to 50cm of the pin to make an easy eagle.

"I have done something pretty special today"
As for the record, it is the first time in JT Cup history to have 2 eagles done by over 50 payer. Another legendary mark was made by Hiroyuki in 57 years of JT Cup history.

Hiroyuki has made 3-peat in 2012 and also became the Order of Merit Champion. 7 years has passed by, and now the field is filled with talented 20 somethings.
"They hit so long, and I can barely catch up with them. I have gotten old. I got more wrinkles and less confidence. I can't get rid of fatigue and I feel that my game is rusty. I am thinking that end of my chance to be in JT Cup is near."

Whatever Hiroyuki thinks, he is only 2 shots behind the co-leaders at 5T, great position going onto the weekends. He has the chance to renew the Oldest Winner record.
"No way, that is outrageous. I am not that optimistic."

But Hiroyuki is fighting hard for his dearest buddy, his caddie Peter Bruce. Peter has been Hiroyuki's caddie since Japan Golf Tour Championship in June 2014.
"We enjoy private time on my cruiser and play golf together. I really trust him. We are great together and I love him as a friend too."

But Peter has decided to move back to Australia to work on golf course.
"I feel so lonely but, I must respect his decision. It is his life. I was told by Peter on the Taiheiyo Masters weekend in November. So, I really wanted to be in this JT Cup so I will have another week with him. My last practice round, my last R1 and R2 with Peter has ended. I feel very sad thinking that everything we do together is the last time."

In 2014, Hiroyuki celebrated Peter's 46th birthday with a victory at Asia Pacific Open Diamond Cup.
"I wish to finish this week together with good ending. I am praying to God."
No matter how emotional Hiroyuki is, Peter is calm as always and shares great time supporting Hiroyuki with a friendly smile. This is why Hiroyuki loves Peter so much.
