"I will grade my round yesterday and today as perfect."
As Hiroyuki said, he marked 69 on R1 and gain 4 more to total at 6 under, on the top of the leaderboards with 2 others. He did make a 3-putt bogey on Par 3 4th hole, but other than this, he had 5 birdies including a chip-in on 7th.
He was at 55th on Final QT, so he would not had the chance to be in the field this week, but due to COVID-19 situation and many of the foreign players unable to come back to Japan, Hiroyuki was blessed with is chance and made a great deal out of it.
He turned Pro at the age of 28 in 2013, as he was a baseball boy since 3rd grade in elementary school. He started to play golf in his college years. He watched Shigeki Maruyama finish as 4T in US Open on broadcast which made Hiroyuki fall in love with the game of golf.
"I admire Shigeki so much that when I had the chance to meet him in person, I couldn't even look towards him. He is an idol, no more than that, a golf god to me. I wish I could be good enough to have constant Tour seed."
This is Hiroyuki's 5th time to making the cutline.
"I am so grateful that the sponsors and organizers decided to have this tournament. I want to make every penny worth out of this chance on the weekends. I will continue to thank for having the chances to play in the Tour and enjoy every part of it as I do my very best."
