Komei Oda jumps up as co-leader wishes to win for his supporting caddies' final tournament
"This is unbelievable, I think it is too good to be true."
Komei was in the same group as big hitter 2 young guns. One of them was 24 years old Tomoyo Ikemura.
"He over drove me for 60 to 70 yards every time. He is on a different dimension so to speak. But I told myself not to mind about it and concentrate on my game. I played smart and kept the fairways, and with having good feeling is my iron shots, I was able to present my game. I went aggressive on the chances and played steady where I had to. Other than this, remains the physical toughness. Issue."
Komei jumped up as one of the three the co-leaders with the bogey free 66. There is another big factor that is giving Komei encouragement, his caddie Kojima will be retiring after this tournament. Kojima was supposed to caddie for Komei from beginning of this season, but it was delayed for 8 months. Kojima had to find another job to make his living and has decided to move on to IT business, so this will be his last job as a caddie. Kojima has been professional caddie for 12 years. Carried the bag for Brendan Jones and Kyung-Tae Kim, adds up to 10 victories. Komei asked Kojima to remain for him, but Kojima's decision was fixed.
"I really want to win this week and give a big bonus to Kojima as a farewell gift. I hope I could do it."
Komei is known for his big warm heart. He has been busy with so many charitable missions. He always comes through when he is fighting hard to support someone, so there is a big chance that he will make his wish come true on Sunday afternoon.
