World's No.1 Amateur Takumi Kanaya makes big charge on "Moving Saturday"
Takumi almost accomplished his goal by making a bogey free round of 65 on R3. He started out from 10th, made an early birdie on 12, and went on to grab an eagle on Par 5 15th by darting to 2-meters from 280 yards in.
"My shots were good from the beginning of this tournament, but I didn't have good feeling on my putts. I read the lines too shallow end ended up not holing it, so today I decided to read the lines wider."
Takumi couldn't accomplish 8 birdies but made 1 eagle and 4 birdies to finish at solo 4th, 3 shots behind the leader.
Takumi washed and worn the same red shirt and black pants, the ones he wore on R1.
"It's the Tiger Woods look, so I wore it on R1 and today. But for the Final Round, I will wear my college color white and yellow as always."
Takumi will be challenging the US Open in 2 weeks, then comes back to defend his title at Mitsui Sumitomo VISA Taiheiyo Masters in November.
"I must create my game to be perfect, if not good results won't follow. I will aim to make as many birdies as possible tomorrow and get myself in good position for the victory."
