JAPAN PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP by Sato Shokuhin 2021

Yosuke Asaji praises his old buddy, Players' Committee Chairman for successful tournament

Yosuke Asaji and Ryuko Tokimtasu, current Players' Committee Chairman are old buddies from junior days. He wishes to give back to his buddy's effort by winning. On his 10th year as a Pro, Yosuke has kept his good game from last week and finished at 3T after R2.

He made 3-putt bogeys on both of his nines.
"My 3-putt mistakes on 9th and 14th were really regretful. I haven't made two 3-putts on a game for such a long time. It is very disappointing and irritated me."

But he also made 3 straight birdies on both nines too. He scored 68 to total 9 under par.
"Overall, I will grade my round as 50 points, but just looking at the score I could say it will be 80-90 point success."

Last week at The Crowns, he started out as one of the 5-way tie co-leaders on Sunday but had to finish as 5th.
"I think I am in good condition since last week and I want to keep that momentum and confidence for the weekends. If I could play as I did for past 2 days, I will have my chance."

Yosuke and Tokimatsu are same age buddies.
"When I meet up with Tokimatsu we just joke around. But I know how much he has placed into this week's tournament to come true, so I want to give back by playing well. All of the players are very thankful for the great job done by Tokimatsu and other executive members, so we will all place our best effort to make this tournament a success."
