Seungsu Han marks 69 to finish 3T 1 shot behind the leaders going onto the weekends
Seungsu as same as all the other international players had really difficult time getting re-entry visa and other documents ready to be able to get back to the Japan Tour. Seungsu was just in time for this year's opening event Token Homemate Cup. But after he finished 36th on that tournament, he went on to not making the cutline for 5 tournaments in a row.
"Due to the pandemic restrictions, it was difficult to go travel to tournaments, and I was mentally disturbed I guess."
Seungsu also was working as Players Committee's International Rep as well. He went around asking the needs and comments from other international players. It was tiresome days for Seungsu. So, he chose to go back home in May, just to give him time to reset.
He played on Korean Tour tournaments for few times and also gave himself quality time to rest. He joined back to Japan Tour from last week's tournament. He said he was on the same flight with the Korean Olympic ladies' golf team.
Seungsu started to play golf at age of 6, and he went to US to study at 13. He was talented in many sports. He has won on speed skate short track, and he also has black belt on Taekwondo. During his 2 weeks restriction period, he watched so many Olympic games on TV and that excitement gave him a fresh mind.
He scored 66 on FR at last week's Sega Sammy Cup to finish 10T. He is getting his game back.
"I was able to finish in good position today, so I want to enjoy the weekends as well."
If he wins, it will be since Casio World Open in 2017, and his 2nd Tour victory. He hasn't decided when yet, but he must be back in Korea again to enter his sponsor Hana Bank's tournament. He received his first vaccination this month and his second one is next month. Vaccination might give him some comfort, but quarantine measures for foreigners coming into Japan is said to become stricter from September.
"I may not be able to come back until October or November. I hope I could win before I leave."
