Yuwa Kosaihira's tactics to play without greed got him to 2T position going onto the weekends

5th year professional Yuwa Kosaihira moved up the ladder to 2T with making a 4 straight birdie start. He says, he was playing without any greed, and that must have been the key. He made 10-meter on his starting hole 10th.
"I don't know, but it just happened naturally. I was able to play the whole round with calm mind today."

Wind got stronger in the afternoon, due to the effects from the hurricane. Yuwa's shot went towards the trees, but luckily it bounced back on the tree branches and came out.
"I never felt this way but playing without greed gave me luck too. Until just before the tournament, I was really frustrated with my shots, since it lacked accuracy. I was pretty upset. I was trying to make my swing better with power, and this frustration effected on my playing manners too. Then on the practice round, I was told by Hirotaro Naito that I was swinging too big on my practice swings. That advice woke me up. I told myself to let go of the frustrations, and don't think too much. I just focused on hitting the sweet spot of the club. Don't push myself, let go of any greed. Just play without stress. Then all started to work out great."

He scored 66 for his first 2 rounds and totaled to 10 under. Achieved the 2T position going onto the weekends.

Yuwa challenged the US PGA cub-tour's Korn Ferry Tour in 2020 but says "I was beaten down. Couldn't stand at all. I came back to Japan to brush up my golf so that I could challenge again."

He finished within Top 10 five times this season and ranks at 39th on the Money Rankings. This season's earnings are 16,794,385 yen and he seems to be safely attained his first Tour Card. Now his goal of the season is to win.
"That wishful thinking is put aside until I finish tomorrow."

Yuwa will go on to play without greed, for good luck.
