Vantelin Tokai Classic 2021

Chan Kim succeeds in accomplishing 2 victory titles at Vantelin Tokai Classic as he predicted

Chan Kim took away the champion title of this year's Vantelin Tokai Classic, following his "Driving Contest" win yesterday.

Chan was still very excited even after the winner's ceremony was over. He kept pushing his arm to the sky and said, "Yes, yes, yes!"

Chan won the "Driving Contest" which was held after the 3R and defended his title with 333 yards record.
"I hope I would be receiving winner's interviews from the media on Sunday afternoon too."

"I am so happy that my wish came true."
Chan won by 2 strokes, but Miyoshi CC gave him much time to suffer on his finishing hole. In front right of the 18th green lies a water hazard. Chan's 2nd shot from the roughs didn't reach the green, and it rolled backwards down the slope toward the water hazard.

"I totally thought that the ball went into the water, so I closed my eyes."
But miraculously, the ball stopped few cm from the edge of the water.
"That was amazing!"
Chan bowed and showed how relieved he was.

He got his 3rd shot out to 2.5-meters to the pin. He said his hands were shaking, but Chan made the par putt and won the tournament with 14 under total.
"It is wonderful to win twice on the same tournament. Great things like this doesn't happen so often in life. I am so happy."
Saturday's "Driving Contest King" was all smiles again.

Chan is known for powerful drives, but this week his motto was to keep his patience.
"When I made bogey, I get too aggressive trying to make it up as soon as I can, and that led me to make mistakes. I was able to keep my patience on 9th, as I made the 4-meter to save par, after bogeying on 8th. I am working on playing wisely aggressive. Not to just carry the ball further but place the ball in right spots. Chose to use 3W when it is needed."

Now, Chan is No.1 on the Money Rankings.
"I don't know about Order of Merit yet, but I want to keep on winning. I will try my best to win the ZOZO Championship too."

Chan will be driving from Nagoya to Chiba, where next week's Bridgestone Open will be held.
"If I lost today, I would have taken the bullet train, but I think I will enjoy the 7 hours' drive. I want to stop by the service area to eat my favorite noodles too."
