19 years old rookie, Ryo Hisatsune is making good charge on attempt to achieve his 1st Tour victory. He played bogey free round with 5 birdies to finish as 4T at 5 under, 2 shots behind the leader on 1R.
On his front nine Par 5 15th, his 2nd shot with 3W reached 3-meter to the pin. He couldn't make the eagle but made easy birdie. After making the turn at 2 under, he almost made hole-in-one on the Par 3 4th with 4I. This tap-in birdie was within 10cm.
He is Tour rookie, but he was given sponsor invitation to PGA Tour ZOZO Championship 2 weeks ago.
"That PGA settings gave me the chance to use my long irons and it was great experience."
As he said that long iron shots were very active today as well.
Cub-tour AbemaTV Tour's season finale, Daylight Works JGTO Final was on the same week as ZOZO Championship, so he skipped the final but still he took away the cub-tour's Order of Merit title. He has safely obtained his eligibility for next Regular Tour season. But he is also at 81st on Regular Tour Money Rankings, since he has been given the special exemption which he earned by winning 3 times on cub-tour this season. He has been playing on Regular Tour since Vantelin Tokai Classic in October. Now he is not only eligible to play on Regular Tour next season but has great chance to obtaining his first Tour Seed.
"I want to push my rankings up on the remaining 4 tournaments. I want to win as soon as possible."
He has already won this week on the Pro-Am game with making 2 eagles. If he wins this week at 19 years and 59 days., he will become 4th teen player to win on the Tour following Ryo Ishikawa (9 victories during age 15 to 19), Jung-Gon HWANG (at 19 years and 41 days) and Hideki Matsuyama (19 years and 261 days).
