After 2 years, Gotemba welcomed the local elementary school students to visit the tournament. On Friday, 2 of the local elementary school students came and watched the excitement up close.
Students were invited every year to see the tournament, and how the tournament is organized as well. In the past years, they were able to see the press center and do interviews to the players and many more activities to learn about golf tournament. But this year due to infection protection control, students were gathered at starting tee to cheer for the players as they made appearance.
When Yosuke Tsukada saw the students, he ran toward them, and tournament official cameraman took a great picture. He started out getting big cheers from the students but faced many troubles with the gusty wind and made 4 bogeys. But on 18th, he made great performance in front of the students. He had 169 yards left on his 2nd shot from right-side roughs, and with 8I he captured green and made 4-meter putt for an eagle.
"Thanks to the students cheers I was able to hang in and played strongly. I managed to stay in the game with total 1 over and 18T. I will try to play my best tomorrow."
