Mitsui Sumitomo VISA Taiheiyo Masters 2021

Shaun Norris ended his Japan Tour season and heads back to his home in South Africa

Shaun Norris ended his season's final tournament at 15T. He decided to make last week's SMBC VISA Taiheiyo Masters as his last game for this season on Japan Tour. He will be flying back home to South Africa to make appearance at his national tournament "South African Open" which is co-sanction tournament with EPGA Tour.

Shaun lost against Shugo Imahira and finished as 2nd on the Money race in 2018 and 2019. Then on pro-longed 2020-21 season, he couldn't join from the start due to pandemic restrictions, but he won twice this season at Golf Partner PRO-AM Tournament in May and Japan Open in October. Now he stands at 7th on the Money Rankings.

"It was really tough year due to COVID pandemic, but I am satisfied with my results. Next season I will try to win 3 times and capture the Order of Merit title."

He also left a big gift to Japan, which he loves so much. He donated the winner's prize he received at Golf Partner PRO-AM Tournament, 180kg of Japanese high brand rice "Koshihikari" to the children's charity meal organization in Tsukuba Mirai City where the tournament was held.

"I know there are so many in difficult situations due to this pandemic and I wanted to help in any way that I could. I will try my best to defend my title next year and make the local fan happy again."
