Last week at winner's interview, Hideto Tanihara mentioned a player's name.
"Tomohiro Ishizawa is really nice kid, way too nice and that worries me".
It sounded like a father worrying about his vulnerable son.
Later Tomohiro was informed about this interview.
"I was surprised to hear that Hideto mentioned about me. I am very thankful for him considering about me."
Tomohiro always writes very polite messages to Tour staffs. He too polite and many of his senior players tell him, greeting and introducing yourself once is enough. This 22 years old rookie is a man with integrity and politeness.
He made headline along with Takumi Kanaya last year at Dunlop Phoenix as it turned out as a playoff between 2 university student professionals. Unfortunately, the winner's trophy went to Takumi.
"I just cannot believe why I was able to play so well last year. I was surprised of myself. Right now, I am not playing so well, and this course is tough to handle. But I really feel that this is wonderful course."
Another episode about his politeness was shown after the playoff last year, as he went around all of the staffs' tents to thank and apologize for extending the work time.
"I don't think I am polite enough, but I was told that it is never too much to be polite during my junior days. Rikuya Hoshino told me that greeting and introducing yourself to the senior players as many times as possible is never too much, so I am following that advice. Thanks to that advice so many players have recognized me now, and even legendary players such as Shingo Katayama and Toru Taniguchi will chat friendly with me. I am honored and grateful."
This week, Masahito Matsuoka, a 2 grade younger student from same Japan Wellness Sports University will be on Tomohiro's bag. Masahito is also aiming to become professional.
"My ultimate goal for this week is to accomplish the victory which I couldn't last year, so first of all I must safely make the cutline. Also, we will be having spectators this week, so I want to perform well under that circumstances."
