23 years old rookie, and Srixon sponsored tournament hosting professional Naoyuki Kataoka couldn't pull through. Naoyuki was fighting great battle against Chan Kim from the back-to-back birdie he made on12th and 13th. He was tied as co-leaders going into the final 18th. But Naoyuki made miss on his tee shot and it went into the left-side trees.
"There was tree in front of me, and tree on right-side too. Tree was above me and below me too, so there was tree everywhere and there was only a tiny space to make my shot. It felt as there was no way out, but I though choosing to go through that tiny spot is the only way to win. I won't choose to do such a thing on regular stage, but at that point it was the only choice. I shot it wishing that it could get as close as possible to the green to give me a birdie chance."
Naoyuki's shot fell into the left-side roughs, as Chan's shot was on the green in two. Naoyuki was again putting pressure on himself as his short game came short and left him with long birdie putt. Chan Kim didn't make the eagle putt, and gave Naoyuki a slight chance, but Naoyuki couldn't make the birdie putt and lost.
"Overall, my golf was good, but I couldn't play well enough to win. I am not thorough enough. I regret not being able to win on my sponsor's tournament. I do have 2 more tournament this season, so I will try my best to win at least one of them."
