Casio World Open Golf Tournament 2021

Current No.2 Money Ranker Ryosuke Kinoshita pledges to "win both of the last 2" and grab the title

If last week's Dunlop Phoenix winner Cham Kim wins again this week, he will make the Order of Merit Champion title concrete. So, for current No.2 Money Ranker, Ryosuke Kinoshita, the best way to prevent that from happening is to win this week's tournament.

"I know there is a bigger bag in money earning between Chan and myself, but I have aimed for the Order of Merit Champion title since the beginning of this season, so I will do my best and win the last 2 tournaments to grab that title."

Ryosuke started out as solo leader on Sunday last week but couldn't close the deal and had to satisfy as 2T.

"I wasn't playing so well, but I was able to find out a way to make score no matter of my conditions. So, from that point clinging on as 2T was big accomplishment for me."

On the latest World Rankings, Ryosuke jumped from 87th to 75th. The Masters exemption given to WR Top 50 is getting a bit closer.

"It is very rare to have the defending champion of The Master as your college buddy. If I could achieve my chance to be in The Masters, I will ask Hideki to play a practice round with me and give me advice."

This week's venue Kochi Kuroshio CC is very familiar course for Ryosuke. He played on this course during his days at Kagawa West High School. Also, his high school senior Diasuke Kataoka has invited Ryosuke to join training at this course.

"I know this course pretty well, so I do have some advantage. This course is suitable to the big drivers, and I can't drive like Chan Kim, but there is a way. I have secret strategy."
