Japan Golf Tour Championship Mori Building Cup Shishido Hills 2021

Players Chairman greets year's first "with spectator" tournament with joy & pleasure

Japan Golf Tour Championship Mori Building Cup Shishido Hills will become this year's first with spectator game.
Ryuko Tokimatsu the Players Chairman was delighted to greet the fans.
"Finally, we are able to welcome the spectators to our tournament. It really motivates us to be able to perform in front of the fans. We are very grateful."

The number of spectators will be limited to 500 per day, but this will be the first game of the year to have fans at the site. Spectators must wear masks, receive antibody test on COVID-19, must keep safe social distance among the spectators and to the players as well, and must not speak loudly to the players.

Ryuko was also concerned about the bad weather forecast coming up on Friday.
"I hope it would not affect the fans' safety and they would enjoy the excitement without any worries."

Ryuko had a practice round with Kodai Ichihara, and he was refraining on his past games.
"It was back in 2018, I was leading by 3 shots as I started on the Final Round, but I made 2 straight bogeys to lose. I got even more motivated watching Kodai play today. I will do my best and be in contention to deliver much excitement to the fans. We have so many new faces now on the Tour, and this year for the first time 3 amateurs will be in the field. I would liken al the fans to look forward to the great battle by all of the talented players."
