Kansai Open Golf Championship 2021
Rikuya Hoshino on a good start to make a revenge on his regretful memories
Last week on Token Homemate Cup, he plunged to 71st on his First Round which resulted on not making the cutline on season restarting event.
"When I am under pressure, I tend to put too much power on my down blow shots, so I made minor changes on my swing to adjust. Placing the ball on the club face and swing with mt body rotation. By the 2nd Round the swing was getting better but it was too late and missed the cut. I really regret for the poor performance."
So, Rikuya took home plenty of homework to make necessary adjustments and it all worked out today.
In 2019 on this Kanisai Open, he has lost against his college senior Tomoharu Otsuki in playoffs. Rikuya had to wait extra year for his chance make the revenge victory.
"This tournament is the oldest Open tournament in Japanese golf history, so I really want to win and have my name engraved among the great players."
Rikuya will try for making his 4th Tour victory following the Fuji Sankei Classic win on last September.
