Tomohiro Ishizaka makes miraculous triple chip-ins scoring 65 to tie at the Top
"My goal for this season is to get as many chance as I ca get closer to the pin, and also improve my G.I.R. average. I did finish at the top tie on the leader board today, but to become top-class player, I must do much better than today."
His G.I.R. stands 44.44%, at 130th on ranking, so as he said, he needs more improvement. But he has many strong points as well.
"I am pretty good on short games, especially with my putting approach."
During his high school days, he has a record of 15 putt per round.
"Back then, my coach told me, if this was under JGA supervision, it could be a world record. Today, I think I was able to play as well as I did then."
Indeed, this performance made him co-leader with Tomoyo Ikemura on the First Round. Tomohiro finishes at 8T last week on Token Homemate Cup, where Takumi Kanaya win over amateur Keita Kanajima by just 1 shot.
"I wish I was among that battle. Final Round was very windy, but Takumi played it magnificently. I must get better to catch up."
Last November at Dunlop Phoenix Open, Tomohiro and then an amateur Takumi fought on the playoff, first time ever by 2 amateurs and he has lost against Takumi.
"I must go head-to-head against Takumi again. Next time I want to show that I could win."
"I am setting the winning score for this week to be 20 under par, so I think I have made enough for today with 6 under. My mind is set to winning my first tournament as soon as possible, surly the Order of Merit title, and also jumping up on the World Rankings to get myself a ticket to The Masters. I know for sure that it is not easy task, but I am going to everything to make it possible."
21-year-old rookie is filled with so many big dreams and ambitions.
