Kansai Open Golf Championship 2021
Takumi Kanaya finished at 16T, first time to be out of Top 10 since turning Pro
Takumi started out at 21T. He made 4 birdies by 10th hole, but he stumbled with a bogey at 12th and double bogey on 16th. He finished at 16T with total of 6 under par.
"It was getting tougher with the wind getting strong. But my failure was careless. I just couldn't close the deal and made bogey and even double bogey. I am still insufficient. I did win last week but to play so poorly this week is very disappointing."
Takimi marked his career V3 last week and did aim to make back-to-back win this week.
"I wasn't even in contention. This is because I am still inadequate. I want to practice more and improve. I will learn from my mistake and brush it up by next week."
Next week's tournament will be Chunichi Crowns, which Takimi has made appearance in 2016 and 2019 as an amateur. In 2019, he grabbed Lowest Amateur title.
"It is a tough course, and you need accuracy to tackle that course. I will practice and prepare well, so that I could perform successfully."
