Shigeo Nagashima Invitational Sega Sammy Cup will kick off the second half of 2021 year games

Prolonged 20-21 season due to COVID-19 pandemic will resume from this week's Shigeo Nagashima Invitational Sega Sammy Cup after 6 weeks of break. On August 10th, players who will be in the field this week was announced.

Starting with Defending Champion (2019) Ryo Ishikawa, No.1 Money Ranker Rikuya Hoshino, and local rising star Naoyuki Kataoka, who won his 1st victory at inaugural "Japan Players Championship" will make the star filled list of 138 players. They will test their best effort on the tough stage at The North Country GC in Hokkaido Prefecture.

Since it was canceled last year, and many golf fans in Hokkaido were looking so much forward to this event, unfortunately this week's game will be without spectators from disease control matters. But the Tour has come up with other ways to entertain the fans by enabling live internet broadcasts providing maximum of 5 different channels, and also a network service called "engate" which connects fan and player directly.

This tournament honored the legendary baseball player, Shigeo Nagashima, who was also one of the Olympics' Torchbearer at the Opening Ceremony. Shigeo has been the honorary Chairman of this tournament since 2007 and has offered so much support to the Japan Tour. Players in the field is eager to deliver much excitement as the Olympics athletes have delivered.
