Kenshiro Ikegami was a player on the waiting list before the tournament started. He was called into the tournament less than an hour before his start. Kenshito had bogey on 2nd but bounced right back on Par 5 3rd by hitting dead to the pin. He made great par saves on 5th, 6th, 8th, and 10th to stay in contention. He took the lead away from Ryo Ishikawa and he went on for head-to-head battle with Shugo.
"I was all excited to battle out with Shugo."

He showed his tough spirit on Par 3 16 th, where there was 8,000,000-yen hole-in-one prize.
"I was aiming to get that prize. I had 8I so, I didn't want to play safe, and I went aggressively."
This shot stuck to 2-meter to the pin and this birdie gave Kenshiro 2 shot cushion.

He did make a lot of noise and achieved good recognition, but it was regretful that he couldn't make the par saving putt on final 18th. If he made it, he could have been solo 2nd.
"I was finally able to play along with Shugo. I learned many from Shugo's talented performance. I am also glad that I was able to experience playing in final group. But that putt I missed on final 18th was regretful. I must build stronger mentality. I still lack something in order to be in the top class. BTY, Ryosuke joked about my shoe size, but it's actually 29 cm."
