Leader Ryuko Tokimatsu adds up 6 more birdies to total 15 under with bogey free 36-holes
Ryuko got up at 4:00 am and didn't even have breakfast before his remaining 1R holes. After he finished his 1R as a solo leader, he took 40 minutes of break time and ate in a rush before his 2R.
Even today was long and tough day for Ryuko, as he had total of 22 holes to play, he performed splendidly and made another bogey free round with 6 birdies, scoring 66 for his R2. Again, many players were not able to finish their R2, so it is provisional, but Ryuko is club house leader with 1 shot margin.
Ryuko is in the same group as Yuta Ikeda for the first 2 Rounds, and says, "as for distance I am always 40-50 yards behind, but I try to play smart not to make Yuta disappointed".
Another member of that group was Yuki Inamori, who is old time buddy of Ryuko since junior days.
"I was fortunate to play along with Yuta and Yuki, the rhythm of the group was very smooth, and I think I was able to take advantage of that rhythm."
Ryuko has won his career first victory on this tournament with score record of 25 under back in 2016. At that time Ryuko didn't have the Tour Card, and he was chosen as "challenge invitee" and turn that chance into his Tour victory.
"Fukushima Prefecture and this tournament has given me great chances. I really appreciate for Fukushima's support."
Last year Last year, as his first year as Players Chairman he went around the Tohoku regions to donate welfare vehicles for reconstruction support charity.
"I was glad that people of Tohoku were happy about our charity. I want to do whatever is possible to support the people pf Tohoku."
Best way to show his appreciation is to accomplish his V2 here in Fukushima.
