Welcome back Yusaku Miyazato, finally makes a comeback from COVID-19 infection

Yusaku Miyazato suffers 2 full days with high fever over 100 degrees Fahrenheit. He was droved around in the ambulance but had hard time finding a hospital to be placed in. He spent 10 days hospitalized in Sapporo City.

He found out he was infected with COVID-19 after his 1R at Sega Sammy Cup in August. It took him quite a while to be healthy enough to be back in play. This week, he is finally making the comeback.

Joyo CC in Kyoto is this week's venue. Yusaku has played here at 2017 Kansai Open, and also Panasonic Open was held here back in 2009.
"I don't remember this course to be so tough with ups and downs. I am out of breath on walking up the hills. I don't know if it is because of the illness, or I am just getting old. It's probably because I am 41 years old."

Thankfully, Yusaku he was able to avoid getting pneumonia. He also didn't have to suffer taste and smell disorders.
"I was told to eat a lot and gain power, so I kept on eating when I got home. Since I wasn't able to do any exercise, I got fat."

Yusaku could have chosen to play from last week's ANA Open, but he wasn't able to practice until September 10th, so he took extra days off to be well prepared.
"I am not 100% back physically and also my golf is rusty, but I am just so glad that I could play on the tournament again."

Yusaku was infected with Delta variant. He doesn't recall any source he could have gotten infected from, but he said, "when your immunity weakens you could get infected very easily, so please be careful. It was very unfortunate that I had to get infected, but what has happened has happened. It's not that I have committed a crime, so I wanted to have my name announced as soon as I found out that I got infected. That way I could save others from the spread. Also, I was always from home for 10 days prior to my infection, so my family was not affected. My wife had to go to the kids' schools to explain, but it all went okay."

On Yusaku's come back round, he will be in the same group as Shugo Imahira and No.1 rank amateur Keita Nakajima.
"I got myself in such a great group, so I will try not to get in their ways. I will be more than happy if I could stay until Sunday."
