GOLF PARTNER PRO-AM TOURNAMENT 2021

Shaun Norris and Tomoharu Otsuki makes birdie spree to score 60 on R1

Inaugural Pro-Am event made a great opening round with magnificent birdies rushes by South Africa's star player Shaun Norris and Tomoharu Otsuki, both scoring 60, 10 under par on the West Course.

Shaun was able to make new lowest career record by 1 stroke today.
"I made 8 birdies and an eagle. Today was perfect. I also had fun playing along with the amateurs. Hospitality is really important."

On the other hand, Tomohiro Otsuki who also made his career lowest score by 4 strokes was regretting his round.
"I couldn't have much conversation with the amateurs today. I am not a talkative type, and I was too shy to offer them some advice either. This is my regret of today."

But Tomoharu did show his talents to the amateurs to enjoy.
"My shots were really great today, and I had many birdie chances. Korai greens are difficult to read so I told myself that even I misread them, it's not my fault, don't mind it too much and go on. This spirit worked. I am ashamed that my shots got wobbly on my back nine."

Tomohiro says, his shots were not so good on his back nine, but he was all over the pin, and made 3 straight birdies from 14th, and ended his round by chip-in on 18th.

Tomohiro is from Ibaragi Prefecture, where the tournament is held.
"I want to make this inaugural event really exciting since it's held in my hometown."

Also, another hometown player Tatsunori Nukaga is doing well finishing solo 4th on R1.
Tomohiro added, "it is unfortunate that spectators are not allowed due to infection control, nut please enjoy the excitement on internet TV. Your cheers are our motivation."
