GOLF PARTNER PRO-AM TOURNAMENT 2021

Ryo was a great host even under the maximum velocity of 17m wind, and he jumps up to 3T

New format Pro-Am game's idea was presented in 2019, while Ryo Ishikawa was the Players' Chairman, so he was the one who spoke at the press conference. So, Ryo is very passionate about making this tournament a success.

Today on his R2, he showed his motivation by scoring 7 under 63. During the morning the maximum wind velocity marked 17.6 meters, but it didn't stop Ryo from playing well and also be a great host for the amateur pairs.
"I only concentrate on my shot s few minutes before I hit, so other time are all dedicated to the amateurs so they could enjoy more."

Masami Udagawa and Makoto Ishikawa, the 2 amateurs in Ryo's group were really grateful for Ryo's hospitality.
"He was taking time to give us advice and read our lines. We had great time. He was so friendly and our image for the professionals turned very positive."

Ryo's position on the leader board jumped from 25T to 3T.
"I chose to hit my tee shots with my normal swing, but I aimed to make low trajectory draw balls. That is the swing I have been practicing during my off season. I wanted to try it in the windy condition, and it worked."

On 5th, he had 14 yards left on his 2nd shot, he darted close to the pin for easy birdie.
"It is reachable with 8I full shot, but I chose to hit it lightly with 7I to avoid wind effect. I have been placing many effort on my iron shots, so I was looking forward to putting in action in the windy condition."

Ryo played on Korai green on West Course yesterday and played bent green today, but he didn't have any problem adjusting on his putting touches.

"I am 5 shots behind the leader, but we are only halfway through and leader board will make many changes. I want to have may name on the good position by the Sunday back nine."
