"I am so grateful for this tournament. I owe everything to this tournament."
Junya challenged to get on the green with 1 shot for the reachable 367 yards 1st, 309 yards 6th, and 358 yards 15th at the West Course today.
Junya is known for his big drives, but "I was having trouble with accuracy, and when I started to wonder why, it caused me to make mistakes. I was mentally worried. But I was saved by my coach's advice."
This week Junya was looking forward to trying his new swing, and also giving his best hospitality to the amateurs.
"Fans are our treasure. We get motivated by their cheers and supports. So, I will do my best performance, and also want to make the amateurs enjoy the round as much as possible."
Junya applauded and gave cheers to every good performances by the amateurs, but for advice, it wasn't necessary.
"They were really great players. I failed to make it to the green in 1 shot for all 3 reachable holes, but one of the amateur player did. They both had great distances, and I think they won today."
As Junya assumed, this amateur pair marked 67 and became the winner of the West Course.
"I knew it. Thanks to their wonderful play, I was able to relax, I usually get too focused on my game and forget to enjoy playing golf. I really had fun thanks to them, and I was also able to achieve good confidence from my new swing."
