Regardless of windy condition Tomoharu Otsuki marks 36-holes record of 124 after R2

Wind velocity of 17 meters blown trough the course today, but it didn't stop Tomoharu Otsuki for performing magnificent golf. He scored 10 under on R1 and followed it with 64 today. His total score of 124 for 36-holes, became the new record on the Japan Tour.

"My shots are continued to be pretty well. Also, his 37 inches putter he has not used for 10 years suited him on the green perfectly, although he said he forgot to how to grip it at first."

Tomoharu has 4 shot lead against the crowd and looking forward to his victory which he has been away since 2019.

Tomoharu has been constantly made appearance since the season reopening tournament in April. He also challenged 36 holes qualify for the US Open on this Monday, May24th. To avoid getting too tired, he chose to play only few holes on the West Course on his practice round. So, today was his first time to see the East Course.

"Thanks to my memories from last year's exhibition event, I was able to make so many birdies. Actually, I made too much can't remember them all."
He did take time recalling all of his 7 birdies to the press.

The amateur in Tomoharu's group came alone, although the game is supposed to be doubles.
"I was good enough playing single. He told me not to mind about him and concentrate on my game. I not so talkative so, thanks to the amateur, I was able to focus on my game. I didn't have enough room in my heart to give advice but was able to cheer for his good performance. The whole group gave me great atmosphere to concentrate. I am really grateful for their support."
