Australia's Anthony Quayle has not given up hope of winning the ISPS HANDA Championship as he heads into tomorrow's final round sitting just five shots off the pace.
The 27-year-old kept his hopes of a JGTO breakthrough very much alive after he fired a sublime seven-under-par 64 to reach the 54-hole mark at 13-under-par 200, tying for 16th spot and is five strokes behind joint-leaders Justin De Los Santos of the Philippines and Yuto Katsuragawa from Japan.
And a buoyed Quayle swiftly insisted that there's still everything to play for.
"I think I am an outside chance to win," said Quayle, whose closest bid to a JGTO victory came in 2018 when he finished joint second at The Crowns.
"I would need to shoot a really low last round and get a little help from the leaders.
"It's not impossible. I'll be looking forward to the challenge," said Quayle.
Quayle rolled in seven birdies on a bogey-free day, including five on the back nine, to mark his best score thus far this season after nine rounds of golf.
"My putter felt really good today," said Quayle, who also had a third-place finish at the 2019 Casio World Open.
"And I put myself in a good position off the tee more regularly. I had a lot more looks at birdie than I did the first two days."
South African Shaun Norris too carded a 64 to shoot up 36 places to a share of 24th on 201 with fellow international competitors Brad Kennedy of Australia and New Zealander Michael Hendry, who posted 68 and 69 respectively.
Filipino seasoned campaigner Angelo Que also did well with a successive 66s to sit joint 31st along with Thanyakon Khrongpha of Thailand (70) and Hyunwoo Ryu (65) on 202 total.
The trio will aim for a top 10 finish which is within striking distance as they are four shots back.
